I used Sunflower (4313-K) for the focal point. The image was colored with Copic markers and the flower part was layered with dimensional adhesives. The border part on left was created with Basic Gray designer paper and I used the border punch for the scalloped border. I added the scoring lines on the celery background. The sentiment was used Thank You… (2524-F) and layered on the yellow grosgrain ribbon.

FTTC73 – All About Fruits!

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC73) ! It is the last Tuesday of the month so we have a challenge host.  This month's host is Cindy Coutts.  Cindy is giving us a fruit inspired challenge.  You can actually create a card with fruits,  use fruity colors, or be inspired by fruit shapes.  It will be  a cool and refreshing sweet treat whichever choice you decide. We look forward to seeing what you create.

SONY DSC

Flourishes carries wonderful selections of Fruits stamps and I looked over all my stamps and decided to use the Life, Love and Lemons set. I stamped the big lemon branch image randomly just the top and bottom part on the classic white cardstock. Then I colored them with Copic markers (I used mainly Sunflower collection and Evergreen collection). I also stamped the same image, colored with Copic markers, and used as a focal piece. The designer paper from Basic Gray Origin was used for the middle mat and I stamped the sentiment on it. For the accent, the olive scalloped edge ribbon were used as borders and embellishment.

Be sure to check out other FOF’s fruity creations!

Weekend Quick Cards – Jun 26th

Hello everyone~

It’s almost Sunday here and I hope you are having a wonderful weekend :) I made 3 quick cards for the weekend with combining some CAS challenges. I hope you will like them :)

SONY DSC

This card was created for CAS-tastic Wednesday Challenge 9 (CWC009) – create a CAS card using a BLUE, YELLOW and NEUTRAL. I knew this cute image from Unity Stamps March Kit of Month would work wonderfully for the color combo! I paper pieced the umbrella and colored the rest of the image with Copic markers.

Stamps: lady with umbrella, cloud sentiment - KOM set (Unity Stamp Co.)
Paper: classic ivory (Flourishes), tempting turquoise (SU), designer paper (KI Memories)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko) Copic markers
Accessories: ribbon

SONY DSC

SONY DSC

The next card was used the sketch from SCS Clean & Simple challenge (CAS72). I was kind of inspired the color from the card too….so, I should claim it “casing” ;)

Again, I used the same Kit of Month from Unity Stamps and colored the gumball machine with Copic markers. The lid was stamped with riding hood red ink and adhered on the image. I used some scraps designer papers from my left over stash. The inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment that coordinated with the one on the card front. I love the cute sentiment :)

Stamps: gumball machine, sentiments - KOM set (Unity Stamp Co.)
Paper: classic white (Flourishes), designer paper (WRMK)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko), riding hood red (SU), Copic markers
Accessories: rhinestones

SONY DSC

OK, this is the last one…for this card, I used the sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping (FTL96). The fern images from Verve Stamps were simply & randomly stamped on the white cardstock with rich razzleberry ink and sponged the edge with always artichoke ink. I embellished with scalloped edge ribbon and pearls to complete the card.

Stamps: Forever in Our Hearts (Verve Stamps), Beyond the Basics (SU)
Paper: classic white (Flourishes), rich razzleberry (SU), kraft (PTI)
Ink: rich razzleberry, always artichoke (SU)
Accessories: ribbon, pearls

Well…that’s it for today from me. Thank you for stopping by.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Coloring, Coloring…Fun, Fun Fun!!

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

I’ve been so busy with being “Mom Taxi” this week… my son goes to VBS and Cub Scout camp every day this week and my daughter’s cheer practices, 2 days for JR High and 1 day for a private cheer team…I’m trying to squeeze my stamping time 1 hour here and 1 hour there, lol.

So far, I’ve made 2 cards I can show. I was really in a mood for coloring for the last couple cards. I’m happy that my coloring mojo is slowly coming back!

SONY DSC

The first card (above) was used the color combo from Curtain Call Color Challenge (ACT35) . I used Sugar Nellie’s Sweet Art Ebony stamp and colored with Copic markers. I sponged the tea roses with the cameo coral ink to make the roses close to the challenge color.

Stamps: Sweet Art Ebony (Sugar Nellie), Faux Ribbons – sentiment (PTI)
Paper: classic white (Flourishes), tempting turquoise, cameo coral, garden green, green galore, retired DP (SU), pink and colored dots DP (MME)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko) tempting turquoise, cameo coral, garden green (SU), Copic markers
Accessories: ribbon, Prima tea roses
Tools: big scallop oval & label 11 Nestablities

SONY DSC

The next card was used the sketch from Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch challenge 79 (MTSC79) and the color combo from Color Throwdown Challenge 98 (CTD98).

SONY DSC

The lady on the phone image is from TSG Domestic Goddess…really fun set! It was colored with Copic markers. I also used the same set for the background.

Since it’s a quite simple card, it’s not much more to say about what I did ;) However, I have to brag this….TSG is going to have a new release on Saturday night and I’m so excited one of my Japanese stamping/blogging friend, Torico is release her designed stamps for the new release! Woohoo!! Please visit TSG blog to check out the sneak peek!!

Also, it’s 2 more weeks for the Color Throwdown 100th Challenge!! It’s going to be a big celebration and many sponsor companies will offer the giveaways for the event! Mark your calendar on July 7th and hopefully you are going to play along the 100th challenge with (present & past) Color Throwdown DT!! (FYI, I’m participating as a guest CTD DT for a month of July!, Yay!!)

Stamps: Domestic Goddess (TSG)
Paper: classic white (Flourishes), chocolate chip, mellow moss, brush blossom (SU)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, rich cocoa (Tsukineko), Copic markers

FTTC72 – Silke’s Sketch

FTTC72 Sketch for 22June2010

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC72) ! This week Silke Ledlow is hosting. She is challenging us to a sketch she has designed. As far as sketches go, there is not much of an explanation necessary. You can turn it and modify the shapes to fit your size card, but in the end, it should still look like the sketch. Good Luck!!! We cannot wait to see what you do with it!

Here is my take on the sketch.

SONY DSC

As you see, I rotated the sketch for my card. I love how wonderfully the sketch works with either way :) I used Patriotism on Parade set for the main image and the sentiment….simply stamped them on the classic white oval mat with the matching colors of the designer papers. The flag, that was from a girl w/ flag stamp, was stamped and colored with Stampin’ markers. Then it was adhered on the silhouette image. The red layer behind the oval mat was made with big scallop oval Nestabilities. I punched the star borders on the 2 vertical side and embellished the card with the white grosgrain ribbon, star buttons and pearls.

RI SOTW – Week of Jun 21st, 2010

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

Repeat Impressions has featured a new Stamp of the Week today!! The stamp is called “ Land of The Free (3704-I)”. It’s perfect to create projects for this coming up holiday, Independence day!! The SOTW stamp is 50% off until Sunday, Jun 27th with a special discount code. Click HERE to get more information and the discount code.

I colored the SOTW stamp with Stampin’ markers (red & blue), huffed the colored rubber – this makes it moist before stamping and stamped on the white mat. I layered the flag image again with dimensional adhesives. I also stamped the vertical stamp Celestial Positive (6008-M) with white pigment ink on the red striped pattern paper. When I did that, I inked only the star part. I love how the stripes are showing through on the star images….that was a great surprise, lol.

This card was used the sketch of Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch Challenge (MTSC78) .

For the middle diamond mat, I stamped Morning Glories (2629-G) and colored with Copic markers. The other 2 diamond mats were created with Spellbinders Fleur de Lis pendant die and stenciled the center of each pendant. The blue square mat was layered under the pendant and the rhinestone brad was attached in the middle. The sentiment “Thinking Of You” from “Quartet Complements” Series set was stamped repeatedly using white pigment ink on the gray mat. It worked out wonderfully since I didn’t have to add another piece for the sentiment :):)

FTTC71 -- Embossing

SONY DSC

Happy Tuesday everyone~

I’m a little sad that my hubby is leaving for Atlanta, GA this morning about for 3 weeks…:( but in this economy situation,  I have to be thankful for my life that he is bringing income for our family and I have a healthy family. Plus, I will be busy with my kids and all summer activities! The next 3 weeks or so will fly like lighting for sure!!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC71) !  This week Cindy Haffner is our challenge host.  Cindy is challenging us to embossing.  There are a lot of different types of embossing options to choose from, such as heat, stencil, plates, folders, scoring, textured die cuts, and more.  In addition, there are many different techniques to combined with embossing.  You can  also use anything from vellum, clear cardstock, or other textures for your embossed projects.  We would love to see what you all create.

SONY DSC

Happy Monday and welcome to Kitchen Sink Monday, everyone~

I’m recharged and ready to start for the new week again :) I hope you had a wonderful weekend, too.

Today’s card for KS Monday is for this coming Sunday – Father’s Day! I don’t know about you but I have a hard time to create masculine cards… So, when I created this card and saw how it turned out, I was so proud of myself :):) Can you tell my inspiration for the card came from the camouflage military uniform?? I so hope my hubby will notice that, lol.

SONY DSC

For the background design, I used Multi Step Big Leaves and 3 Step Letter From the Past. The same ash leaves image (Step 1 stamp only) was stamped with kiwi kiss ink (1 x stamp off) for the background of the sentiment. The sentiment was stamped from Whole Family set. Many of my stamping friends have told me that soft suede color is fabulous….now, I totally understand why…and I’m so happy I finally purchased the color ;)

I used the sketch from SCS Sketch Challenge 284 (SC284) .

These are the steps I did for each image:
(maple leaves) 1st – SU kiwi kiss (1 x stamp off), 2nd – kiwi kiss, 3rd – SU old olive (1 x stamp off), 4th – old olive

(ash leaves) 1st – SU wild wasabi (1 x stamp off), 2nd – wild wasabi, 3rd – SU garden green

For this card, I used the sketch from There She Goes challenge (TSG58) and combined with SCS Color Combination challenge 274 (CC274).

This color combo is a little hard for me to work with…I don’t know why it was….they are beautiful colors together. I decided to play TSG What’s Up Buttercup? set and colored with Copic markers. I sponged the circle mat just like Jodi showed us in Wednesday Trends HERE :) I used 2 kinds of embossing folders for the back panels and embellished with the gingham ribbon and epoxy dots.

Stamps: What’s Up Buttercup? (TSG)
Paper: classic white (Florishes), tempting turquoise, ruby red, cameo coral dp (SU)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko), tempting turquoise (SU), Copic markers
Accessories: ribbon, epoxy dots
Tools: classic circle Nestablities, CB embossing folders, piercing tools

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

I’m trying to catching up with the challenge I’ve wanted to try  this week…

I made this sunflower card with the sketch from Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch Challenge (MTSC77) . It was also combined with the latest Our Creative Corner Challenge (OCCC)Summer Inspiration.

When I think about Summer, Sunflowers are always in my list :) They are a wonderful summer inspiration to work with for sure! I also picked the green & blue for the color combo, and great summer-ish greeting :):)

I stamped the image from Flourishes Wreaths of All Seasons set and colored with Copic markers. I decorated the layout with Webster Pages designer papers (I “HEART” them!) and stamped the greeting “hello sunshine” by Verve Stamps.

Stamps: Seasonal Wreaths (Flourishes), Accent Notes (Verve Stamps)
Paper: classic ivory (Florishes), wild wasabi (SU), designer papers (Webster Pages)
Ink: Memento rich cocoa (Tsukineko), Copic markers

For the challenge, I used passion pink for the third color of choice.

I stamped the heart ribbon image and sentiments from Think Pink set on the classic white cardstock and created the background design. I attached the scallop ribbon and Tsumami Kanzashi flower on the polka dots designer paper.

This card is also submitted to Crazy 4 Challenge 40 (C4C40) – Create Pleats for a card/project.

Crew-Challenge-logo

Hello and happy Kitchen Sink Monday, everyone~

Today’s  the first Monday of the month…that also means a time for Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge!! Lynn McAuley is this month challenge (KSCC#26) host and she is challenging us to use ribbons as an inspiration for your card/project. What a fun challenge! There are so many ribbons that have beautiful colors and designs…I’m sure you will enjoy working this challenge :):)

To get more information & the giveaways for the challenge, please check Kitchen Sink Stamps blog.  KS Crew challenge is going to take a little break for summer after this challenge. Hopefully, you have a time to play before the break!

Here is my take….

The ribbon has my favorite color combo (that’s one of the reasons I bough it, plus it was 50% off! Can’t miss the deal, lol) and I picked the colors and the papers to work with. Since it’s the month of June, I decided to create a wedding card. I used Multi Step Wedding Rings for the main image and sentiment. For the border design, I stamped the border image from Nesting Dolls. I think it worked very well with the ribbon pattern :):)

This card was used the sketch from SCS Sketch Challenge 277 (SC277).

These are the steps I did for each image:
(rings) 1st – Memento cantaloupe, 2nd – SU so saffron, 3rd – SU more mustard, 4th – more mustard
